Friction Folding Knife w/ Gold Handle
Friction Folding Knife w/ Gold Handle
This hand forged blade is made from 1080 high carbon steel. I use high carbon steel because of its ability to to take a sharper edge and hold it longer than lower quality stainless steels.
This friction folding knife doesn’t have a locking mechanism. Instead friction keeps it opened, and closed. The tab on the back of the blade goes under your hand during use, so there is no way the knife can fold while you’re using it. The tab also doubles as a unconventional pocket clip.
The black texture at the top of the blade is actually what the knife looks like straight off the anvil. I keep the texture at the top of the knife because there is only one way to get that onto a knife, and it’s to hammer the knife to shape. I think it gives the knife an unmistakably unique look that will have people curious.
The handle is made from forged sheet stainless steel, folded over like a taco shell. Before folding I textured the handle with different chisels and hammers, to give it a one of a kind look.
Slim but with an important heft, this is a great knife for everyday carry. I personally have been carrying one of these folders around everyday for several years now.
